Nira is a thoughtful heart and a chase queen! She's currently in a loving foster home, where she's made herself right at home with the resident dogs and children. Nira is house and crate trained and has been a fun addition to her foster family. You can see her love for toys, drive-by kisses, and gorgeous listening ears in her YouTube video here: https://youtu.be/OnUqeKf6NCs
Nira is a sweet, thoughtful girl who might take a moment to warm up to new people. Once she feels safe, she reveals her loving and playful side in a genuine way. She prefers to observe before fully committing, but once she does, you'll have her heart!
She truly shines when she has canine companionship, as her confidence noticeably grows around other dogs. She enjoys playful chasing and movement, and her herding instincts can be seen when a good game of chase gets going. She can get a little vocal when playing, but it's all in good fun! Nira would do wonderfully with a medium-energy, goofy dog who can keep things fun. She's also happy to entertain herself with toys, especially stuffies, but she's yet to meet a toy she doesn't enjoy.
Nira needs calm introductions and time to adjust to new environments and unfamiliar faces. She'll do best in a quieter home that understands the value of slow trust-building and patience. Once bonded, she seeks affection and happily engages with her people. Treats are a great motivator and help her feel comfortable and confident, so stock up!
Ideal Home
Nira would thrive in a home with a yard, another dog, and patient, consistent, and respectful adopters who understand her need for space initially. She is not a candidate for apartment or city living and would prefer to be a homebody rather than attend many outings or social events. She adores kids (she lives with ages 11 & 13) and will need a cat-free home, as she is too enthusiastic about chasing them.
