Alder

Alder is a shy but friendly 3-year-old gentleman who came to us from Texas. He's a bit unsure how to express his excitement, but he definitely craves affection and attention. We suspect he'll master the Pyr paw in no time! Alder seems interested but unsure when it comes to playing with other dogs, so a home with a calmer, playful dog would be beneficial. Once he has a chance to decompress, we're confident he'll come out of his shell. He is protective of his food, so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs. Alder doesn't seem to mind cats and would likely do well in a home with children who are past the "screeching years." An ideal home would have a fenced yard, but he does walk well on a leash, making a home without one acceptable as long as you're committed to daily walks. Please note that Alder will likely not stay close to home if allowed to wander.
