Meet Glasseater Kennels. Scott Glancy is from Illinois and breeds Weimaraner's. Our kennel is actually our home we own both parents as our family pets, this is our first litter and want to ensure our puppies go to loving families. The Story Behind Glasseater Kennels: Every kennel name has a story, and ours is one of resilience, love, and a testament to the remarkable nature of the Weimaraner breed. In 2012, my wife and I welcomed our first Weimaraner into our home. As a first-time dog owner, my wife was learning the ropes while I was often away at work. Our puppy, whom we affectionately called Buddy, was about four months old—full of curiosity and energy, as Weimaraner puppies tend to be. One day, while my wife was preparing a casserole in the kitchen, the dish slipped and shattered on the floor. In the moment it took her to turn away and grab cleaning supplies, Buddy did what puppies do—he investigated the interesting new thing on the floor. By the time she turned back, he had already started eating the casserole, broken glass and all. Panicked, she called me at work, and I rushed home to take Buddy to the veterinarian. The vet's response was both surprising and reassuring: "Weimaraners are known for being pretty resilient," he told us. "Feed him some bread and keep an eye on him. It may pass without issue." And that's exactly what happened. Buddy had some uncomfortable days, but he recovered completely. He went on to live a full, happy life until the age of 14, becoming my wife's best friend and constant companion through the years. My wife passed away on April 6, 2017, after a courageous battle with Huntington's disease. In her memory, and in honor of Buddy's and my wife's incredible resilience, we keep the name "Glasseater Kennels"—a reminder of the strength, loyalty, and remarkable spirit that defines this breed. Our Breeding Program Today Today, Glasseater Kennels is a family operation run by me and my daughters. Our current Weimaraners are not related to Buddy, but they carry forward the same qualities we came to love in him. Through years of experience, we've learned what it takes to raise healthy, well-socialized Weimaraners. Our dogs are playful, loving, and affectionate—they love to cuddle, run, and explore. While we haven't pursued formal hunting training (as it requires a level of patience and dedication we haven't been able to commit to), our dogs have shown strong natural drive and instincts. They would make excellent hunting companions for someone willing to invest the time in proper training. What We Offer At Glasseater Kennels, we focus on: • Health: All our puppies receive veterinary health checks, vaccinations, and deworming • Socialization: Our puppies are raised in our home with daily interaction, handling, and exposure to family life • AKC Registration: All puppies come from AKC-registered parents and include registration applications • Early Care: We provide comprehensive early care including dew claw removal, tail docking, and health guarantees • Support: We're here to help you welcome your new family member and answer questions along the way Our puppies are raised with love, attention, and the kind of care that comes from a family who truly understands and appreciates this remarkable breed. We're committed to placing our puppies in loving homes where they'll be cherished family members, just as Buddy was for us. Thank you for considering Glasseater Kennels. We'd be honored to help you find your own "Buddy."
