Lucille is a 5-year-old Poodle mix who was rescued from a puppy mill. She is a sweet and gentle girl who is just beginning to show her personality. Lucille arrived at the shelter feeling timid and overwhelmed, adjusting to freedom and a new chance at life. Slowly, she’s starting to trust people and come out of her shell, revealing a happy, friendly personality ready to give love. Lucille is experiencing the world for the first time—gently being picked up by humans, walking on a leash, and even seeing grass. While she’s not yet comfortable on a leash, with patience, she’s making progress. She’ll walk a little but gets nervous around too much activity, often stopping and needing encouragement or to be carried. Lucille needs a forever home with patient and understanding people who can help her overcome her past and discover the joys of a dog’s life.   • Valid ID (must be 21+ years old).
  • Dog Owners: If you currently have dogs, a meet and greet with the shelter dog is required.
