Meet BJ, a sweet 5-year-old Bichon Frise who weighs about 18 pounds. BJ is a gentle soul who can be a little timid and nervous when meeting new people or in unfamiliar situations. He's on a journey to discover that the world is a safe and wonderful place, and he's looking for a patient and understanding adopter to guide him. With consistent reassurance and gentle handling, BJ has the potential to blossom and gain confidence over time. He would thrive with an adopter who is committed to slow, steady trust-building and can provide him with the gentle encouragement he needs.

Ideal Home

BJ would do best in a calm environment. A fenced-in yard is essential for him as he continues to build his confidence with leash walking. He would also likely benefit from a calm, confident canine companion in the home to help him feel more comfortable and adjust more easily. Homes with older children are a great fit, and homes with younger children will be considered based on BJ's individual needs.

Ongoing Health

BJ is currently heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment. He will require follow-up care and strict adherence to the treatment plan provided by veterinarians to ensure his full recovery.

Training & Support

BJ is still working on building his confidence and trust. Patience and a gentle approach are key to his continued progress. While house training and leash walking may require a little extra practice, he has the potential to adapt well with understanding and a kind hand.
