Lita & Ford - NY

Lita and Ford are two 5-year-old Saint Bernard mix sisters looking for a loving home together. They come with a unique background, having served as guardians for pigs and mini horses on a ranch. This experience has made them excellent protectors, very good at keeping unwanted humans and animals off their property. While they've never shown aggression towards their farm friends or people, their past hasn't included exposure to dogs or cats. Because of this, they are very aggressive towards other dogs and cats, which has created a difficult situation at their current sanctuary. They are doing what they were trained to do, and it's not their fault! They are truly wonderful dogs who deserve a chance to shine in a home where they can be their best selves without any other pets. Their protective instincts would make them perfect guardians for a livestock ranch, especially one with a coyote problem.

Ideal Home

Lita and Ford need a home without any other dogs or cats. They also require strong fences to ensure their safety and that of any potential livestock they might guard.

Ongoing Health

These girls are spayed and up to date on all their vaccinations. Their next shots are due in December.

Training & Support

While Lita and Ford are naturally protective, they have never shown aggression towards humans, pigs, or horses. Their aggression is specifically towards other dogs and cats due to lack of early exposure. They are capable of being wonderful companions and guardians in the right environment.
