Meet Brody – a 5-year-old, 65-pound neutered male Cattle Dog/Pitbull mix with a perfect blend of playful energy and a laid-back attitude. Brody is a truly special boy who is ready to bring joy and a whole lot of love to his forever home. He's a wonderful balance of being active enough for outdoor adventures and mellow enough for a cozy day on the couch. Whether he's zooming around the yard or snuggling up with his signature tongue-out smile, Brody is the definition of a lovable goofball. He's even happy to dress up for holidays or themed events, as long as he's doing it with his favorite people!
Ideal Home
Brody would thrive in a home with a secure backyard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy some off-leash play. He does best with friendly, laid-back female dogs and prefers a relaxed playmate. Due to his size and playful nature, he might be a bit much for smaller or timid dogs. Brody would also be content as the only dog in the home. He has done well with children and would love a family with older, dog-savvy kids (8-10+) who are respectful of dogs. Brody is not a good fit for homes with cats.

Training & Support
Brody is house-trained and crate-trained, doing wonderfully when left unsupervised in his crate. He walks calmly on a loose leash and enjoys strolls. He is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please, making him a joy to train. While he may get a bit excited around assertive male dogs, he has shown great progress with calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He would benefit from continued positive experiences and a home that offers structure and consistency. Brody would excel in a home with experience with breeds like Cattle Dogs or Pitbulls, as these dogs thrive with a purpose. Daily walks, light adventure, and activities like scent work, agility, or obedience classes would keep his mind sharp and strengthen his bond with his family.

Transportation
Brody is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas. He is ready for transport out-of-state once his forever family is approved. Transports run every few weeks, and he will be placed on the next available transport after approval. If you have specific time constraints for receiving a dog, please apply at that time.
