Froyo

Meet Froyo, a charming 5-year-old Chihuahua mix who's ready to find his forever family! This handsome boy, weighing in at about 12.4 lbs, is a true gentleman with a heart full of love. Froyo is looking for a home where he can share his sweet and affectionate personality, trading shelter life for cozy blankets and quality time with his favorite people. He’s a loyal companion who will be happiest by your side, whether you're relaxing at home, enjoying a stroll, or just spending a quiet evening together.

Ideal Home

Froyo would do best with a family who can help him adjust to his new life. Given his background, he would benefit greatly from having another resident dog in the home to show him the ropes. Regular socialization opportunities like walks with other dogs, visits to the dog park, or doggie daycare would also be wonderful for his continued learning and integration.

Ongoing Health

Froyo tested positive for heartworms but has received treatment. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets and results from mosquito bites. While serious if left untreated, dogs who have undergone treatment and are kept on monthly heartworm prevention can lead full, active, and normal lives. He will need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks following his treatment. We are happy to discuss his treatment progress in detail.

Training & Support

We cannot guarantee that any dog is housebroken, but Froyo is working on his crate training. As dogs from Puerto Rico often face a significant transition period, Froyo will need patient and committed humans to help him with socialization as he adjusts.
