Hi there, I'm Jace, a 5-year-old, 55-pound bulldog mix with handsome white and brown markings. I'm as sweet as they come and my favorite thing in the world is to snuggle up next to my favorite person for belly rubs and head scratches. I'm a smart cookie too, and I'm already working on "sit," "down," and "leave it." I'm a highly motivated learner, especially if there's a tasty treat involved! My favorite toys include a Kong filled with kibble or peanut butter, bones, and stuffed animals. I also love a good game of fetch, though I'm still learning the concept of "giving the ball back," and tug of war is always a blast! I'm a real goober who doesn't quite understand my own size and will happily try to sit in your lap just to be closer to you. I'm looking for my forever best friend to follow around the house and chill with.
Ideal Home
I would do best in a home where I can be your one-and-only canine companion. I am not good with other dogs, likely out of fear rather than true aggression, as I was chained in a yard for most of my life before I was rescued. While I love cats, I need to ensure they don't come near my food.
Ongoing Health
One side of my face will never fill in due to what the vet thinks is an old injury, but this doesn't affect my cuddly nature at all! I was heartworm positive but have completed treatment. I am neutered and vaccinated.
Training & Support
I am potty and crate trained and walk great on the leash. Due to past experiences, I have a tendency to guard my food. I am working on this, and it's important that my new family understands this and takes precautions around my meals.
