Forrest is a 7-year-old Vizsla mix with a heart of gold and a coat as soft as velvet. He was adopted from us years ago but recently returned to our care. Unfortunately, his previous home had a large resident dog who was injured when they played too roughly. Forrest's family felt they couldn't safely manage their interactions and decided he'd be happier elsewhere. Despite this setback, Forrest is a wonderful boy who thrives with smaller canine companions. He loves to snuggle and play gently with small dogs, both male and female. He listens very well and is incredibly loving, always wanting to be close to his foster family. Forrest has a beautiful soul, and his melting eyes will capture your heart. He's also a great traveler and enjoys car rides!
Ideal Home
Forrest would love a home with at least one small resident dog to keep him company. He also needs a family that will commit to daily walks and provide him with a nice yard to relax in. A home without cats is mandatory, as his prey drive is likely strong.
Ongoing Health
Forrest was diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis six years ago, a tick-borne bacterial infection. He was treated with a 30-day course of Doxycycline, which is the standard treatment. He is now up-to-date on vaccines and neutered.
Training & Support
Forrest pulls on the leash, suggesting he may not have been walked frequently in his previous home. We recommend consistent daily walks to help him get used to leash manners. He is a very easy-going foster, fully house-trained, and does not require a crate as he is not destructive.
