Duke Ellington is the epitome of pure joy in canine form! This happy-go-lucky boy is all smiles, wiggles, and enthusiasm, waking up each day excited to be alive and making sure everyone around him feels the same. With his goofy bounce, giant grin, and full-body affection, Duke has a larger-than-life presence that's impossible to resist. He's playful, affectionate, hilariously expressive, and has that lovable, goofy energy that keeps you entertained. Duke truly feels like your overly enthusiastic best friend who happens to be a pittie mix! He even believes he has a singing career ahead of him, blessing his humans with dramatic opera performances whenever the mood strikes.
Ideal Home
Duke Ellington would thrive in a semi-active home where he can be a true part of everyday life. A backyard is essential for him to zoom around, play, burn energy, and share his vocal talents with the neighborhood. Because he is so people-oriented and loves to be involved in his humans' activities, he would do best in a home where he isn't left alone for long stretches regularly. Apartment living may not be the best fit due to his impressive vocal range. He needs a home that can provide structure, routine, exercise, and consistency, and people who embrace his big personality.
Ongoing Health
Duke Ellington is believed to be a pit bull/boxer mix, approximately 2 years old, and weighs 50 lbs. As with all rescues, breed and age are not guaranteed.
Training & Support
Duke already knows how to sit and is treat motivated, enjoying learning and engaging with his people. He is crate trained and potty trained. He can pull on the leash out of excitement, so continued leash training will help him polish his manners.
