Izzy

Izzy is a sweet and resilient 1-year-old spayed female, believed to be a Hound/Lab mix weighing in at 30-35lbs. She's a special tripod pup who has overcome a lot! Izzy came to us in August needing significant care after being found as a stray in Tennessee with a shattered pelvis. Thanks to the dedication of temporary fosters and our veterinary team, she received life-saving amputation surgery to address a bone infection. She also healed beautifully from a small fracture in her other hind leg with rest and medication.

Now, six months post-operation, Izzy is thriving and ready for her forever home! Despite her past challenges, she shows no interest in dwelling on it and is instead a loving, adventurous, and surprisingly chill companion. She greets everyone with enthusiastic tail wags and kisses, making her a true social butterfly.

Ideal Home

Izzy adores children and would fit wonderfully into a family environment. She's friendly with dogs and cats too!

Ongoing Health

Izzy is recovering well from her amputation surgery and has no known ongoing health issues.

Training & Support

This clever girl is already crate-trained and doing great with potty training. She also walks nicely on a leash, so a fenced yard isn't a necessity. Izzy is ready to leave her past behind and embrace a bright future!

Transportation

Izzy is located in the Buffalo, NY area. Long-distance adoptions are considered, but applicants must be able to travel to Buffalo, NY for a meet and greet.
