Gilligan is a sweet and playful young boy ready to find his forever home! He's a mixed breed, likely a terrier and lab mix, and is approximately 2 years old as of November 2025. Gilligan weighs around 47 lbs and is a loving companion who enjoys snuggles, squeaky toys, and playing fetch. He can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and becomes your best friend. When he's relaxed, he even purrs like a cat! He's also a good boy who loves finding sunny spots to nap in.
Ideal Home
Gilligan would love a home where he can go on long sniffy walks and have many adventures. He gets along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine sibling. While we haven't seen Gilligan with children, we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any interested adopters. Gilligan is not recommended for a home with cats.
Ongoing Health
Gilligan is a truly Lucky Dog! He previously tested positive for heartworm disease but has successfully completed his treatment. Heartworm is not contagious and is transmitted through mosquito bites. While it can be life-threatening if left untreated, dogs who have been treated generally experience no significant long-term effects, provided they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to discuss heartworm disease and its treatment in more detail during the adoption counseling process.
Training & Support
Gilligan is house and crate trained in his foster home. He's eager to learn and the 15/10 Foundation will sponsor $1000 in training to help him be his best self and integrate seamlessly into his new home.
