Meet Cody! 🐾

Cody is a handsome Golden Retriever looking for a very special forever home where he can truly thrive. He's back with us for a fresh start, and while his previous home didn't provide the structure he needed, leading to a bite history, he's made wonderful progress! Cody has completed a board-and-train program and is currently with a dedicated foster who is continuing his work with a professional trainer. He's a smart, eager-to-learn guy who loves to stay active, and with the right guidance, he has so much potential to live a happy, balanced life.

Ideal Home

Cody needs an experienced and committed adopter who can provide him with structure, leadership, and ongoing training. To ensure he thrives, his ideal home will not have children. He also needs an active lifestyle with at least 1.5 hours of daily exercise and enrichment. He cannot live with other dogs unless the adopter has significant experience with behavioral cases.

Cody is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Cody has a past bite history, which is why ongoing training and a structured environment are crucial for his success. He has already completed a board-and-train program and is continuing to work with a professional trainer in his foster home. Adopters must be committed to continuing his training and working with a trainer.

Application Details:

• Adopters must agree to the Tattered Paws contract, which requires that Cody be returned to the rescue if the adoption does not work out for any reason.
• Under no circumstances may the adopter euthanize Cody without first contacting the rescue.

Cody is currently in a foster home in Seattle, WA. We can arrange transport to approved adopters.
