Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, 56-pound, neutered male hound/retriever mix with a heart full of love and a wagging tail ready to find his forever family! He was rescued from the streets and brought to a loving foster home where he's blossomed into a playful, affectionate companion. Comet has a good balance of energy, enjoying zoomies and playtime, but also loves to cuddle up with his favorite people. He's a quick learner who aims to please and is eager to make his new family happy.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with another friendly dog to be his sibling and playmate. He has also done well with indoor cats and children, though we recommend a home with kids aged 10 years or older who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. Comet can be a bit wary of men initially, so a patient and consistent approach will help him feel comfortable and build trust.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without fuss and does not pull on the leash. He's learned to alert his foster family when he needs to go potty and hasn't had any accidents indoors. While he doesn't show signs of separation anxiety, he does enjoy tasting new things, so he's crated when unsupervised. He is a bit wary of men but adores his foster dad, showing he can warm up with patience and consistency.

Transporation

Comet is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. He can be transported to an approved adopter once arrangements are made. Transports occur every few weeks, and we will schedule him on the next available transport after approval.
