Lord Farquaad

Lord Farquaad is a handsome and intelligent young adult male dog with a charming, albeit slightly ego-driven, personality. He's incredibly smart and eager to please, often anticipating commands before they're even given, especially if treats are involved! While he's young and can be excitable, he's also quite manageable. He already knows all the commands and loves to show off his smarts.

Lord Farquaad would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his intelligence and energy. An environment where he can continue to learn and be rewarded for his efforts would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

All dogs adopted from Chicago Animal Care and Control are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Training & Support

Lord Farquaad is a quick learner and already knows his commands. His eagerness can sometimes lead him to "rush" through commands, so continued positive reinforcement and engaging training will help him channel his smarts. Introducing him to new dogs should be done slowly and cautiously, with proper introductions and time for decompression.

• All household members should be present for dog meetings, especially those under 18 and any decision-makers.
• We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s).

Transporation

Lord Farquaad is located at Chicago Animal Care and Control, 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm can still view animals until 7pm.
