Smokey

Smokey is a 2-year-old, 60-pound male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, and he's ready to shower his forever family with love and affection! Smokey is a smart and quick learner with a gentle and kind-hearted nature. He enjoys playing with other dogs, but he's also a total couch potato who loves to snuggle up and relax. Smokey is a submissive boy with no mean bone in his body, and he's sure to be a loyal and affectionate companion.

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive in a home with a yard and someone who works from home or is only away for a few hours a day, as he experiences some separation anxiety. He would also do well in a home with a doggie companion, as he loves playing with other pups. Due to his shyness with new people, a low-traffic home would be ideal for him. Smokey would prefer a home without cats.

Smokey is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Smokey is fully potty trained and walks great on a leash, though he can pull slightly when excited, he settles quickly. He is not a fan of being crated and prefers to free roam. While he will cry for a bit when left alone, he doesn't get destructive and eventually settles. Gentle redirection is helpful when he is nervous around strangers.

Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX, and transport can be arranged to an adopter once one is lined up.
