Training & Support

Leafy has a head start with some basic commands! We recommend slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions if you have other dogs, allowing Leafy time to decompress in his new environment.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• All household members should be present to meet Leafy, especially those under 18 and any decision-makers.
• We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) at the shelter. Please bring proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s).

Transporation

Leafy is located at Chicago Animal Care and Control at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to adopt the day you visit, please arrive before 5:30 PM. Visitors arriving after 5:30 PM can view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7 PM.
