Tatum is a creamy white, 14 lb, female Maltipoo, about 6-7 years old. She came to us from the East Valley Shelter after her previous owners could no longer afford her mammary tumor surgery. We've learned that Tatum has Mammary Cancer and will be undergoing chemotherapy. We are doing further testing, and while her long-term prognosis is unknown, we are committed to giving her the best possible fight. She's still a young dog with a lot of life left to live!
Tatum is extremely sweet, though she can be a little head shy and timid initially. She seems to be curious about other dogs and interested in meeting them, suggesting she may not have had much socialization. Her incision was quite long, so she's been kept quiet during her healing, but she's happy and ready to play! She walks well and does her business on the go. Tatum doesn't like being left alone, so a home with another dog or humans who are around frequently would be ideal. She expresses her desire for attention with whines and seeks lots of love. A yard would also be beneficial for her potty training. In the car, she wants to be close to you, offering gentle kisses to show her appreciation. She was well-behaved at the groomer and is a cuddler once she feels comfortable. Respectful, older children (8+) would be a good fit. Tatum will need some time and patience to acclimate and fully blossom. Would you consider giving this precious girl a loving home, perhaps as a foster or fospice placement?
