Newman

Newman is a sweet, gentle 72 lb. Pit Bull Terrier mix who was born on March 26, 2020. He loves his daily walks and treasures his squeaky toys, though he is still learning to share. He knows how to sit and take his treats gently. Newman arrived at our shelter with bite wounds on his face, and due to his toy guarding tendencies, we require an adult-only home for him. He has shown fear and avoidance towards cats and has ignored other dogs when introduced.

Ideal Home

Newman would do best in an adult-only home. If he were to have dog siblings, a very slow and monitored introduction to calm, dog-savvy friends would be necessary.

Ongoing Health

Newman is heartworm negative. His adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, deworming, and microchip.

Training & Support

Newman can pull on his leash when initially excited for walks. He guards his toys and will not release them willingly, though he has learned to let go for a treat. He needs continued gentle guidance with his toy guarding.
