Helena

Helena is a 5-month-old Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix with a sweet face, a bright mind, and serious puppy charm! She is friendly, social, smart, and an all-around wonderful young dog who enjoys people and other dogs, and is even good with cats. Helena is handling puppyhood with impressive grace, but as a baby, she will need the usual puppy basics: structure, training, patience, supervision, and a family ready to help her grow into the lovely adult dog she is clearly meant to become.

Ideal Home

Because she is a young, active mix of two intelligent breeds, Helena needs a fenced yard where she can run, play, explore, and burn off her puppy energy safely. She will do best with a family that enjoys a bright, engaged dog and understands that smart puppies are always learning.

Ongoing Health

Helena is a puppy and requires ongoing veterinary care as recommended by your veterinarian.

Training & Support

Helena will need continued socialization and training to help her grow into a well-adjusted adult. Owners should be prepared for the demands of raising a puppy, including potty training (she can only hold it for one hour per month of age), crate training until at least one year old to prevent chewing, and providing plenty of positive socialization experiences. Puppyhood is equivalent to toddlerhood and requires at least a full year of patience, appropriate toys, socialization, and obedience training, which can be time-consuming and expensive.
