Twilight is an absolutely adorable, approximately 3-month-old female Lab/Husky mix with a stunning black brindle and white coat. She was found as a puppy roaming alone in Manitoba and has since blossomed in our care, filling out to a healthy weight and showing immense potential. Twilight is a high-energy, intelligent, and affectionate pup who already displays an eager-to-please attitude and incredible attentiveness. With her breed mix, she's expected to be a loyal, loving companion, ready to join you in any adventure. She's already showing great promise with her recall and is highly treat-motivated, making training a joy.
Ideal Home
Twilight needs a home where someone is present throughout the day, as she requires frequent potty breaks and cannot be left alone for an 8-hour workday. She's looking for an active family or individual who enjoys the outdoors and can provide her with plenty of exercise, including more than just short walks. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal, though not mandatory. She is not suited for high-rise apartment or condo living. Twilight can be considered for a home with children over 6 years old. If there are younger children (6-11) in the home, the family must have prior dog ownership experience and be prepared to actively manage an excitable puppy with young children. First-time dog owners will be considered for homes without young children. She can live with a cat with proper introductions and supervision. If there are other dogs in the home, it must be a neutered male who is tolerant of puppies and enjoys playing. A female dog in the home would not be a suitable match. Adopters must not have any holidays planned in the coming months or be planning to move, as stability is crucial after adoption.
Ongoing Health
Twilight is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is too young to be spayed before adoption; this procedure is included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our vet in Cambridge. Adopters must live within an hour's drive of Cambridge to accommodate this pre-arranged surgery. Adopters will be responsible for her ongoing vaccinations and all other veterinary care.
Training & Support
Twilight is currently being house-trained, which is going well. She will require consistent supervision to help expedite this process and to prevent inappropriate chewing. Crate training is highly recommended and encouraged, as it provides a safe and secure den for her. She is very treat-motivated and her recall is already fantastic, indicating she will be a well-behaved dog with consistent training and socialization. Post-adoption training, including puppy socialization classes and at least Level 1 obedience, is a mandatory requirement of our adoption process.
