A little about them
Franklin is a handsome Flat-Coated Retriever/Newfoundland mix, approximately 1–2 years old and 73 pounds. He is energetic, intelligent, eager to please, and loves car rides and spending time with his favorite person. He is currently boarding and looking for an active, patient, loving home.
Franklin does well with other dogs and adults, but may be too jumpy for children. He can be a devoted companion and may also do well as your one and only.
Ideal Home
- An active, patient, and loving family
- An adopter prepared to work positively with resource guarding around toys, chews, and treat balls
- A home able to provide continued guidance and support
Ongoing Health
Franklin is currently being treated for heartworm. He is expected to be ready for adoption once treatment is complete.
Training & Support
Franklin is crate trained, house trained, and knows some basic commands. He responds well to treats and positive reinforcement and has not shown interest in chewing inappropriate items. He may need continued work with potty training, leash pulling, separation anxiety, and sensitivity to loud noises and thunderstorms. A Gentle Leader may help with walks, and he is best crated when left alone. Obedience training is strongly recommended.
