A little about them

Chowder is an affectionate, gentle, cuddly, and adventurous 8-month-old Shepherd mix who weighs 47 pounds. He loves snuggling, walks, puzzles, toys, learning tricks, and being close to his people. He is intelligent, curious, responsive on leash, and quick to learn. He can be shy around loud noises but grows more comfortable each day.

Ideal Home

Chowder would thrive with a loving, patient companion who can provide a balance of activity, training, and quiet time. A securely fenced yard of 6 feet or higher is preferred, or his adopter should be committed to frequent walks. He could live with a confident resident dog or be happy as an only dog. His compatibility with children is undetermined.

Ongoing Health

Chowder is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is healing beautifully from a minor, veterinarian-cleared skin infection and is off medication.

Training & Support

Chowder is mostly potty trained when kept on a consistent routine and is working on crate training. He knows or is learning “sit,” “stay,” “down,” “up,” “outside,” and “walk.” He is good on leash and would benefit from continued positive training, confidence-building, puzzles, walks, and an adopter who is home often or has a flexible schedule.
