BAXTER (Gorgeous Low Shedding Boy, Loving, Sweet, Good with Kids & Dogs)

Baxter is a handsome, scruffy Irish Wolfhound/Giant Schnauzer mix with a sweet, affectionate personality. This big, loving boy enjoys cuddling with his humans, playing with squeaky toys, and fetching. He is very low-shedding and would make a wonderful outdoor adventure companion and relaxed evening snuggle partner.

Baxter was abandoned with another dog and rescued from animal control. He is now thriving in foster care and ready for a loving forever home.

Ideal Home

Baxter gets along with other dogs, especially female dogs, and shows no signs of aggression. He is curious about chickens and cats, so a home without those animals would be best. Because he does not always realize his size, older children may be a better fit than very young children.

He enjoys running, sniffing, exploring, and investigating new smells. He also likes baths and drinking from the garden hose, so he may enjoy water activities.

Ongoing Health

Baxter is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, and taking Credelio for flea and tick prevention and Interceptor Plus for heartworm prevention. He will receive a veterinary checkup and health certificate before travel.

Training & Support

Baxter is crate trained and house trained. He is learning leash manners, is not destructive, and has not generally been a chewer. He loves to fetch and returns the toy ready for another throw.
