Meet Wakanda! This little guy is a unique blend of snuggle bug and neighborhood watch captain, with a passion for collecting toys. We believe Wakanda is a Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, around 3.5 years old, and weighs about 16 pounds. He's still a bit underweight, but his foster mom is working on adding some tasty snacks to his diet!
Wakanda comes from a difficult past and is still adjusting to the world. New noises can be startling, visitors are met with suspicion, but blankets? He finds them absolutely amazing! His favorite things include snuggling under blankets, anything edible (he'll do anything for a treat!), toys and bones, exploring the backyard on walks, and being close to his person.
Ideal Home
Wakanda needs a quieter home with a securely fenced yard. He would do best with older children or adults only and requires a family committed to continued training and consistency. He needs someone patient who understands that building trust takes time. Apartment living or homes with shared walls are likely not a good fit, as he has a lot to say and isn't afraid to share his opinions!
Ongoing Health
No specific health concerns are noted in his description.
Training & Support
Wakanda is crate trained and potty trained with reminders. He's been working on building confidence and managing his barking and protective instincts. He loves deeply but selectively, and once he bonds with you, he takes his role as your protector very seriously, like a tiny bodyguard. He tends to warm up faster to women and is still learning to trust men.
