Kamoku & Kasumi

Kamoku and Kasumi are a bonded pair of sweethearts who have been together through thick and thin. Kamoku, a 14-year-old Dachshund mix weighing 17 lbs, and Kasumi, a 5-year-old Cairn Terrier mix weighing 38 lbs (with a goal weight of 22 lbs), were their previous owner's pride and joy. They were showered with love and captured in countless holiday photos, showing a decade of cherished memories. Sadly, when their owner's health declined and she had to move into a nursing home, no one stepped up to care for these two beloved dogs. They were brought to the shelter with their treasured photo album, a testament to the deep bond they shared with their mom.

When separated, Kamoku lost his appetite, and Kasumi was inconsolable, barking and crying non-stop. It's clear these two are deeply bonded and must be adopted together. When they are together, they are mellow, affectionate, and gentle companions who coexist peacefully with other pets and children.

Ideal Home

Kamoku and Kasumi would love a home where they can continue to share their golden years together, showering their new family with affection.

Ongoing Health

Kamoku is a senior dog and may have age-related health needs. Kasumi is currently working towards a healthier weight.

Training & Support

These two are already house-trained and are calm and affectionate with people. They are a joy to be around and will bring a lot of love into their new home.

Kamoku and Kasumi are currently fostered in Brooklyn, NY. They are available for local adoption or out-of-state adoption, provided the adopter can travel to meet them.
