Patrick is an 8-year-old, 9lb Maltipoo with a heart full of love! He acts like a puppy, adores his toys, and is eager to shower his people with affection. Patrick wants to be by your side, whether that means snuggling on your lap, being held, or just staying close. He'll even let you know when he's ready for some cuddles by barking to be picked up! He also enjoys going on errands and would likely love to visit your favorite store, especially if it's Target!
Ideal Home
Patrick would thrive in a home where someone is present most of the time, as he doesn't do well being left alone for long periods. He needs a home where he can be picked up to receive attention and cuddles, and where assistance with stairs and ramps for getting on and off furniture can be provided. Homes that do not meet these specific requirements should not submit an application.
Ongoing Health
Patrick came to us with Grade 5 Intervertebral Disc Disease, which initially caused paralysis in his back legs. After dedicated physical therapy, muscle supplements, and water therapy, he has made incredible progress and is now walking and even running! He will require ongoing assistance with stairs and ramps for furniture. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Patrick is housebroken when kept on a consistent schedule. He may wear a belly band indoors. When settling into a new home, Patrick, like all dogs, will need at least two weeks to decompress. During this time, it's important to limit visitors to just the people living in the home to allow him to build trust and adjust to his new environment.
