Smiley Wiley is a handsome, fluffy German Shepherd mix who is approximately 1 year old and weighs 65 lbs. He's athletic, loyal, and ready for any adventure you can throw his way, but also happy to relax at the end of the day. Wiley's most unique trait is his incredible hugging ability – he gives the biggest, most comforting bear hugs! He's also a big fan of playing with other dogs, engaging in classic Shepherd-style play like chase and wrestling. Wiley is smart, responsive to structure, and knows several commands like sit, down, and wait. He is very treat-motivated but also eager to please. He enjoys both active outings like walks and hikes, and relaxing indoors with his favorite toy. Wiley has been great with younger children but tends to prefer the company of older kids (15+) who understand his need for space.
Ideal Home
Wiley would do best in a home with a confident, playful female dog to help guide him and build his confidence. He thrives in a home with a backyard where he can explore and bask in the sun. A semi-active family that enjoys hiking or running would be a great fit, as would someone looking for a dog who also enjoys relaxing after some mental stimulation. He would be happiest in a home with 1-2 children aged 15 and up. Wiley is not a fan of cats.
Ongoing Health
Wiley is up to date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and has been spayed.
Training & Support
Wiley responds well to confident leadership and structure. While he already knows many commands and is eager to please, he can get a little nervous in new situations. Having another confident dog in the home will be beneficial for his confidence.

You can track your pet's journey in real-time with photo updates. A $87 surcharge applies for transportation due to rising costs.
