About Ivan the Iconic
Meet Ivan! Ivan is a year-and-a-half-old, 50-pound goofball who looks like he walked straight out of a dog-themed rom-com. He's all wiggly enthusiasm, silly charm, and sweet, squishy pittie/staffy-mix (rescue guess!) good looks, complete with those giant radar-dish ears that turn him into the cutest little deer when he's curious. Ivan LOVES life, and he especially loves toys! He's got a big herding ball he proudly body-checks and thinks fetch is the greatest game ever, though he may occasionally decide to keep the ball. He also loves water and will happily chomp at the hose like he's starring in a summer splash commercial. Ivan is a sweet, affectionate boy who warms up quickly. He didn't come into the world knowing how to demand affection, so instead of jumping all over you, he tends to be a bit aloof at first – but once he's bonded with you, he melts into you like warm cookie dough. Belly rubs? Yes. Snuggles? Absolutely. Crawling halfway into your lap even though he weighs 50 lbs? Without question. When he meets new people, Ivan plays it cool, then he is all snuggles! He is treat-motivated and eager to learn, which makes helping him polish his manners fun and rewarding.
Ideal Home
Ivan would thrive with a medium-energy female dog who likes to play but can also give him a polite "knock it off" when needed, as he responds great to dogs with clear social cues. He thinks cats are fun little sprinting targets and would 100% chase them for sport, so he needs a feline-free home. Ivan is super sweet with humans but is still young and energetic, so he would be wonderful with older kids who won't get knocked over during a case of the zoomies. He is gentle and loving and lots of fun for kids to play with! He could 100% learn to give littles space with time. Ivan will thrive with a yard to burn energy, an active adopter, someone who enjoys training and play, and clear boundaries and routine.
Ongoing Health
Ivan is up to date on all vetting and has no known health conditions.
Training & Support
Ivan LOVES other dogs and is basically the party starter of the play yard, but he's still learning how to read the room. With playful dogs, he's a total blast, but he can get a little too excited! With a little guidance, he happily takes breaks and checks in. With confident females, he's surprisingly respectful. However, with mellow or insecure dogs, he can be a bit much as he's just a big, bouncy boy, and quieter dogs sometimes find him overwhelming. He is treat-motivated and eager to learn, making training fun and rewarding.
