Yasmin (Yazzy)

Yasmin (Yazzy) is an energetic, sweet, and silly girl who will make a fantastic family pet for an active household. She thrives outdoors, enjoying games of fetch, long walks, and general exploration. At her foster home, she has a great bond with Darla, a similarly sized dog, and they spend much of their day playing together. Yasmin is also buddies with the resident cat, and they even share sleeping arrangements. She is housebroken and crate trained, and she loves car rides.

Ideal Home

Yasmin would do best in a home with an active lifestyle where she can get plenty of exercise. She does well with other dogs her own size on a one-on-one basis and enjoys the company of cats. She has not been around small children and would need time to learn to be gentle with them, though she is not typically overly rambunctious or jumpy. She should not be placed in a home with small dogs.

Ongoing Health

Yasmin was diagnosed with hip dysplasia in September. She will need to be on a daily Dasuquin joint supplement.

Training & Support

Yasmin is generally well-behaved, but she is still working on a "no bark" command, which is progressing well. She can be shy around other dogs in group settings and prefers to observe from the perimeter, though she has made a few dog friends. She needs a little time to warm up to new people coming into the house, so giving her space to greet them initially is recommended. She is a good watchdog and will let you know when strangers are around.
