Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyr who arrived from Texas, where the stray dog population is overwhelming. Thankfully, he is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home.

Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman. He wants to show his excitement, but he's not 100% sure how to. He likely wasn't given much affection or attention, but he definitely craves it. We suspect he'll master the Pyr paw in no time.

Ideal Home

Alder would do best in a home with a calmer, playful dog to help him learn how to play with others. He is pretty mild-mannered and would likely be fine in a home with children beyond the screeching years. A fenced yard would be ideal, but he does walk well on a leash, so a home without one is acceptable as long as you are committed to daily walks. He is not a dog that can be left to wander in the backyard unsupervised, as he likely will not stay close to home.

Training & Support

Alder is a bit protective of his food, so he'll need to be fed separately from other dogs. We suspect that once he can decompress, he will come out of his shell.
