Meet Eileen, a 7-year-old, 12-pound dachshund mix who is on a journey to discover that the world can be a wonderful place! Eileen came to us very frightened, but with each passing day, she's bravely taking small steps towards trusting her foster family and embracing the good life. She's still a bit shy, but she's growing more comfortable with being held and enjoys staying close to her people, observing the other dogs and learning how much fun life can be. Eileen dreams of being part of a pack and is looking for a patient family to let her blossom at her own pace. A confident and social dog in the home would be a tremendous help for Eileen as she learns and adapts. She kennels well, is making progress with her potty training, and quietly cheers on the other pups like a tiny, enthusiastic fan club president. Some dogs arrive with a bang, but Eileen is more like a porch light, slowly and beautifully glowing brighter each night. And when she trusts you, that kind of love is truly pure gold.
Ideal Home
Eileen would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another friendly, social dog who can be a positive role model for her. She needs a family with plenty of patience, kindness, and time to help her continue to gain confidence.
Ongoing Health
Eileen is up-to-date on her vetting needs, including heartworm test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella vaccinations, spay, dental work, and microchipping.
Training & Support
Eileen is working on her potty training and is making good progress. She needs continued gentle guidance and positive reinforcement to help her feel secure and build trust.
