Merle Dawson is a truly special boy, a striking pittie mix with a coat that's a work of art. His most captivating features are his mismatched eyes, one a piercing icy blue and the other a warm caramel brown. But Merle's charm doesn't stop at his looks; his personality is even more dazzling! He's a bundle of pure joy and affection, convinced that everyone he meets is his new best friend. When he greets you with a wagging tail and a happy smile, you'll instantly feel his love. He’s devoted, goofy, and undeniably lovable. Merle is approximately 5 years old and weighs 47 lbs. As with all rescues, his exact breed and age are a delightful mystery!
Ideal Home
Merle would thrive in a home that offers structure, routine, and plenty of connection with his people. He's happiest when he's included in your daily activities. He would do best in a home with a semi-active family who enjoys his company and a large fenced-in backyard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy sunny days. While Merle is dog-friendly and has done well with calm, easygoing female dogs, he truly shines as the only dog in the home, where he can be the center of attention. He has also been wonderful with children as young as 5 years old and would likely make a fantastic family dog.

Merle is a healthy boy who has received all necessary vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, and flea and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Merle is treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a joy to train. He walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and is learning basic commands like "sit." Further training will be a fun bonding experience for you both. He enjoys puzzle toys and licky mats to keep his curious mind engaged.

Merle is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (with pick-up points in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You'll be able to track his journey in real time!
