Zac is a handsome 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing around 60 pounds. He's a sweet boy who was rescued from a county shelter after an untreated injury led to him needing FHO surgery on a back leg. The surgery was successful, and he's now fully healed with no ongoing medical needs or medications. Zac is a loyal companion who offers a perfect blend of playful energy and relaxed cuddles. He enjoys spending time with other dogs, but his favorite place is right by his people's side for some quality relaxation. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and a polite conversationalist, especially when dinner is a little late! Zac is known to gaze lovingly into your eyes while enjoying pets and attention. He's done well meeting new people and is getting more comfortable with car rides. He loves toys and treats and shows no signs of resource guarding.
Ideal Home
Zac would thrive in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He enjoys having canine companions and is happiest when he has other dogs or people around to share his life with. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he'd do well with a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when excited.
Ongoing Health
Zac had FHO surgery on a back leg, which has fully healed. He requires no further medical intervention and is not on any medications.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He is good with other dogs and calm on walks. His foster notes that he may need continued guidance on not jumping up when excited.
