Rain(y)

Rain is a beautiful young female Afghan Hound mix with stunning blue eyes and a gentle spirit. Her past was incredibly tough; she was found tethered outside in harsh weather, with no shelter, starving, and suffering from intestinal worms. Despite her traumatic beginnings, Rain has transformed into a dog who dances with joy when she sees a familiar face! She is still timid around new people and will need several visits to warm up to anyone new.

Ideal Home

Rain would do best as the "one and only" pet in the household, as she thrives as a solo flyer. She needs a patient and kind human who is ready to offer love and understanding without expecting immediate gratification.

Ongoing Health

Rain was treated for intestinal worms upon rescue. She is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Rain is still working on her confidence with new people. She was terrified and would cower when handled, and still has residual fear that someone might hit her unexpectedly, though she has never shown aggression. She needs continued positive reinforcement and patience to build trust.
