About Tamera Honey The Sweetest Family Dog
If your dream dog is the kind that can't get close enough to you, the kind who melts into every pet, leans in for more, and turns affection into her full-time job, then Tamera Honey is about to be your girl! She has that big, over-the-top, all-in kind of love that Shepherd people know and hope for. The kind that makes you laugh, makes you feel wanted, and somehow makes every interaction feel like the best part of her day. Tamera Honey is not only incredibly sweet, but she is also amazing with kids, dog friendly, respectful around cats, and smart. She's a special one, no doubt about that. Tamera Honey is believed to be a German Shepherd mix, approximately 12 years old, and currently weighs 58 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee age or breed. Just based on looks alone, it's pretty fair to say she has some GSD in that DNA. We'd love to find adopters who have a little GSD experience under their belt, someone who understands their fun, independent spirit and is ready for a loving, adventurous companion.
Ideal Home
Tamera would thrive in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, a little adventure, and a whole lot of affection. She would make an amazing adventure buddy. Take her to the park, explore nature trails, go on outings, or visit your favorite local spots and watch her collect fans everywhere she goes. Tamera would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can stretch her legs, soak up the sunshine, and happily hang out alongside you while you go about your day. Apartment life won't be a good fit for her. Tamera would do best with a moderately playful dog that enjoys both playtime and downtime. A buddy who can match that balance would be perfect for her. If you don't have another dog, that's totally fine too! Tamera doesn't need a doggy companion to feel comfortable or fulfilled. She is a total lovebug with her people and will be perfectly happy with backyard play sessions or neighborhood walks with you.

Training & Support
Tamera is a smart girl too! She is very treat motivated, eager to please, and already knows so many tricks! She knows how to sit, down, shake, spin, roll over, and speak! Tamera loves to make you happy and gives us the impression that she is the type that you can teach anything to. She walks fairly nicely on a leash and may pull occasionally out of excitement, but she responds well to gentle reminders and is easy to refocus. She's also comfortable tandem walking with other dogs. On top of that, she is crate trained and potty trained! With consistency and a few treats, any additional training will be a fun and rewarding experience for both of you. Tamera is dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced. She does prefer slightly slower introductions before jumping into playtime. When she does play, she plays like a total shepherd. Mouthy air play, little nose boops where she sees fit, and plenty of chase games. It's entertaining to say the least! Tamera is more of a bounce-around, run-alongside-her-friends kind of girl rather than constant wrestling. She will give a subtle correction if she's not feeling it or if play gets too rough, like an older sister setting fair boundaries. Always appropriate, always respectful. Tamera also met our house cat Biggie and did great. She was respectful, didn't chase, and wasn't bothered by typical cat behavior. Biggie was comfortable around her as well. While we don't know her full history with cats, she showed all the right signs. If you have a cat, we can always arrange a meet-and-greet or sleepover to be sure it's a good fit. When it comes to kids, Tamera just gets it. She has been around children as young as 7 and handled it beautifully, like she instinctively knew exactly where she belonged. She was gentle, patient, and so naturally in tune with them, soaking up affection while staying respectful of their space. There's something really special about the way she interacts with kids. It's easy, calm, and genuine. She doesn't come in too hot or overwhelm them, she simply fits right in, like she's always been part of the family.
