At 5.5 months old, Macie is a spirited and intelligent puppy with a remarkable resilience. She, along with her littermates and mother, were found abandoned on a cold January night, but thanks to the kindness of strangers, they were brought to safety and have been thriving in foster homes. Macie is a true heeler, full of curiosity and energy, always ready for an adventure. She loves to play, especially with other dogs who can keep up with her zest for life. She's a quick learner and is constantly exploring and figuring things out. Macie is not a dog who will be content with a sedentary lifestyle; she's destined for a life of excitement and purpose.
Ideal Home
Heelers are known for being driven, athletic, and smart, requiring consistent training and enrichment. This breed is not for everyone, as they need an outlet for their energy and intelligence to prevent frustration. We are looking for adopters who understand the heeler breed and are committed to providing Macie with the activity, purpose, and consistency she needs to flourish. She would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children due to her high energy and herding instincts. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, finding a compatible playmate can be challenging, so she may be best suited as an only pet for some adopters.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Heelers thrive with structure and consistent guidance. Macie will benefit from ongoing training and opportunities to engage her active mind and body. Adopters should be prepared to provide her with consistent enrichment activities and a clear routine to help her succeed.
