Chanel

Meet Chanel, a resilient and loving 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix! Chanel has a remarkable story of survival and transformation. She was found abandoned in a crowded shelter in New Mexico, where she was on the euthanasia list, scared and shut down. Thankfully, she was brought to Texas to get a second chance at life. She has since blossomed into an energetic and happy dog, even donating blood to help save other animals in need. While her journey has been incredible, she is still learning to trust and is looking for a patient and understanding family to help her on her way. She enjoys playing with toys and balls, especially soft squeakers, though she can be a little easily startled by loud noises. She is still working through her past trauma and can be flinchy when hands come towards her, so a gentle environment where she can take things at her own pace is key. Chanel is searching for a family who can help her rebuild her faith in humanity and discover what it feels like to be truly safe.

Ideal Home

Chanel would thrive in a patient and understanding home where she can continue to rebuild her trust. She would also benefit from having a canine companion.

Ongoing Health

Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. She has also been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Chanel is still working on trusting humans and can be flinchy when hands reach towards her. She is also still figuring out how to play with her toys. She will need continued training and understanding to help her feel safe and secure.

Transporation

Chanel is located in Texas and is available for transportation to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH, LA. AZ transport is coming soon. Transport is available to predetermined locations and times. The adoption and transportation fee ranges from $100-500. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request with the financial responsibility on the adopted family. Texas adopters have a $250 flat rate fee for transporting within the state. Animals are transported in air-conditioned buses or vans with onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. Adopters can follow their pet's journey through a private Facebook Event page, with photos, updates, and communication. Our Adoption Coordinator will help find the closest transport pickup location.
