Alfie is a handsome Shepherd Mix with a sleek tan coat, white-tipped feet, and a black muzzle. He weighs in at 49lbs and was born around December 2018, making him an adult male. Alfie arrived as a stray at a high-kill shelter, and we stepped in to give him a chance at a better life. He's been learning the ropes of home living in a foster home since January 2026 and has blossomed into a true joy. His entire body wags with excitement when he greets you, and he's a pro at various commands like Sit, Down, Wait, Come, Touch, Gotcha, Paw, Utter Paw, Turn, and Leave It. He's energetic and loves to play in a fenced yard, zooming around like a puppy, and is also content to entertain himself with chew toys and puzzle feeders indoors. Alfie loves spending time with his humans, showering them with hugs and kisses, and enjoys pets and body rubs. He's also happy to quietly hang out while you're working. He's not a fan of thunderstorms and can be a bit anxious, but a ThunderShirt and some engaging training sessions or toys help him cope.

Alfie would make a great addition to a single-pet family with confident, loving humans who have prior dog experience. He thrives with attention and affection, and while he enjoys his indoor time, he also loves walks and playtime in a secure yard.

Alfie is up-to-date on his vaccines and preventive medications. He is fearful of thunderstorms.
Training & Support
Alfie is housebroken, good in the car, and knows many commands. He has been working on maintaining focus outdoors and polite greetings when passing other dogs. He enjoys training sessions and is motivated by treats and praise. He stays off furniture and understands that he works for rewards.
