Athena, a 1-year-old Terrier mix, is a bundle of playful energy and affection looking for her forever home! She weighs about 35 pounds and her estimated DOB is May 2025. Athena and her siblings were found abandoned, and thankfully, she's now in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting a loving family. She's a curious and affectionate pup who loves to be involved in everything her humans do. Athena is a fast learner and is already mastering commands like "sit," "down," "drop it," and "come." She’s currently working on her social boundaries with other dogs, but with her eagerness and consistent guidance, she's improving daily!
Ideal Home
Athena would thrive in an active home that can provide daily physical exercise and mental enrichment. She needs plenty of appropriate chew toys and continued guidance as she navigates typical puppy behaviors, like chewing. A home that understands and is committed to ongoing training, structure, and socialization for a young, fun-loving dog would be ideal. While she enjoys playing with dogs of all sizes, a home without cats may be best, though a cat-savvy home with slow introductions and clear boundaries could also work.
Ongoing Health
Athena is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She is a healthy young dog.
Training & Support
Athena is a smart and eager learner, already knowing several commands. She continues to benefit from positive reinforcement and ongoing training. She is still working on understanding when other dogs are finished playing, but she's making great progress. Patience and consistency will be key to helping her mature into a well-adjusted adult dog.
