Akela

Meet Akela, a delightful adult female Husky mix with a personality as vibrant as her breed suggests! Thanks to her wonderful foster home, we've learned so much about this curious and loving girl. Akela adores squeaky toys, pig ears, and bully sticks, and she's a big fan of relaxing by watching TV and snuggling up with her favorite humans. She truly thrives when she's part of the pack and would be happiest in a home with another husky or two to show her the ropes and keep her company. Akela is also a huge fan of car rides, though she's still perfecting the art of hopping in! She enjoys her walks and exploring the outdoors, and she's very food-motivated, which makes her curious nature even more engaging – she'll either sit and observe or let her nose lead the way.

Ideal Home

Akela would be an amazing family dog, especially in a home with another dog or two to hang out with and show her the ropes.

Ongoing Health

Akela is about 90% potty trained, with only a few accidents here and there. She is also a little skittish with sudden movements and experiences some separation anxiety. Covering her kennel with blankets helps her settle and feel safe.

Training & Support

Akela is currently working on not jumping up when greeting people or asking for treats and toys. She is also in the process of kennel training.
