Meet Pedro!
Pedro is a handsome Shih Tzu who is ready to leave his past behind and discover what it truly means to be part of a loving family. Coming from a puppy mill environment, so much of the world is still new to him, and he is learning each day that people can be kind, homes can be safe, and life can be filled with comfort and love. Pedro can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations, but beneath his timid exterior is a sweet and gentle boy who wants to trust. With patience, understanding, and a little time to settle in, his personality continues to shine through, revealing a friendly companion who simply needs someone willing to help him build confidence at his own pace.
Ideal Home
Pedro is looking for a patient and compassionate adopter who understands that puppy mill dogs often need time to decompress and learn that the world isn't such a scary place after all. He appears to do well with other dogs and could enjoy having a canine friend to help show him the ropes. He also seems like he could do well with cats when introduced slowly and properly.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
Training & Support
Because of his background, Pedro is still learning about everyday household life and may need guidance with things like house training, walking on a leash, and adjusting to new routines.
