About Jason

Jason is a distinguished 6-year-old male Greyhound who has journeyed all the way from New Zealand to find his perfect match in the Midwest. He's a handsome fellow who has embraced his foster home with grace and is now ready to embark on his next great adventure – finding his forever family!

Ideal Home

Jason is your quintessential shadow, content to be wherever you are, whether that's napping or joining you on a walk. He thrives in a home with clear structure and confident humans who know what they want. While he enjoys the company of other Greyhounds (and likely other dogs his size), he is not a fan of small dogs, cats, or other small animals, as his instinct is to chase. He's quite independent and enjoys periods of solo napping, making him a good fit for busy households, as long as he receives plenty of love upon your return. Jason is happiest indoors, though he'll tolerate the outdoors for necessities. He finds children with big imaginations confusing and stressful, so a home without them is preferred.

Ongoing Health

Jason is a healthy boy! His adoption fee covers his spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, parasite treatments, dental cleaning, and microchip with registration. He also comes with a sighthound collar, leash set, and muzzle.

Training & Support

Jason walks beautifully on a leash without pulling. While his trainer noted he could be stressy and headstrong, his foster has not observed any stress. He is described as a "no-nonsense dog" who appreciates structure. He is comfortable with periods of solo time.
