Meet Chocolate Chip!

Chip is a sweet, smart, and loving 1 1/2-year-old, 62-pound mixed breed who is ready for his forever home! He's mostly German Shepherd and Border Collie, with a bit of Great Pyrenees, giving him a wonderful blend of intelligence, loyalty, and athleticism. Chip has overcome some past hip injuries, but it doesn't slow him down one bit! He's already crate trained, potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has even graduated from obedience classes. Because of his medical history, his adoption fee has been reduced to $75.

Ideal Home

Chip would thrive in an active home with a family who can share adventures with him. Daily walks, hikes, or playtime are a must! A fenced yard would be a great bonus, but this boy needs a house setting and is not suited for apartment living. He loves other dogs and could do well with respectful middle school-aged children and older. While Chip has done well with some dog-savvy cats, he may occasionally be tempted to chase, so careful introductions would be necessary. He has a habit of swallowing children's toys, so a home without young children, or where toys can be kept out of reach, is essential.

Ongoing Health

Chip's adoption fee of $75 includes his neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip.

Training & Support

Chip has already mastered the basics, including crate and potty training, and walks well on a leash. He's eager to learn and would benefit from continued engagement with an active family.

• We do adopt out of state, provided you have vet references and can complete a video home check.
• The adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out.
• We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes, as dogs are pack animals and should be part of the family.

Chip is located in Springfield, MO. Out-of-state adoptions are available with the adopter responsible for transportation.
