Meet Gina! Gina is a one-year-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix with a heart full of love to give. She was found as a tiny puppy abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road, but thanks to a wonderful foster, she's now ready for her forever home. Gina is a playful and affectionate girl who enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those smaller than her. She loves a good game of tug-of-war and will often bring toys to her doggy friends to initiate play. While she can be a bit shy around unfamiliar or larger dogs due to a past incident, she lives harmoniously with small and large dogs in her foster home. She does get a bit too excited about neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home would be best. Gina adores human attention and would thrive in an active household where she can play and be entertained. She's a toy enthusiast, often gathering her favorites in her bed, and she's learned to play fetch, though she's also happy to entertain herself.
Ideal Home
Gina would do well in a home with older children (10+) who are knowledgeable about dogs. An active family, couple, or even a single person who can provide her with plenty of exercise and playtime would be a great fit. She would also benefit from having another dog in the home to keep her company and help manage her energy. A cat-free home is recommended.
Ongoing Health
Gina is generally healthy. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and can stay crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She prefers to eat her treats alone. As she's still in her "puppy velociraptor stage," she will need guidance on appropriate chew toys. Adopters should be prepared to provide regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise and enrichment to help her grow into a well-mannered adult.
