Spicy is an approximately 8-year-old Chihuahua who has a lot of personality packed into his tiny body! He was rescued from a hoarding situation and is looking for a very special home that will understand him and love him for exactly who he is. Spicy is a quirky little guy who tends to take a long time to warm up to women, sometimes several months. Building trust with Spicy requires patience, consistency, and plenty of treats. He prefers men and will advise when he wants to be picked up by jumping on your leg. When he’s ready for affection, he’ll happily jump into your lap for cuddles, but he’ll let you know with vocalizations when he’s had enough. Spicy is a good listener, follows direction, and sleeps in his kennel overnight, which he knows is his safe space.
Ideal Home
Spicy gets along well with cats and other dogs, but he firmly believes he's the biggest dog in the house! He can do well with a calm, submissive canine companion who respects his space. He needs a home willing to help manage potential indoor marking behavior. We prefer a household with no small children.
Ongoing Health
Spicy is housetrained but may mark indoors if left unsupervised.
Training & Support
The quickest way to Spicy's heart is through food! He absolutely loves treats and takes them very gently. Food is the key to earning his trust and building a lasting bond.
