Meet Lazarus, also known as Lazzie, Russie, or Laz! This handsome 3-4 year old, 50 lb. black Lab mix is a volunteer favorite. He's a calm, gentle, and quiet boy with a gorgeous, shiny coat, who loves nothing more than lounging and cuddling on the bed with his people and his canine pals. Lazzie gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and currently shares his home with a tiny chihuahua and a 70 lb. pittie. He recently had a great time at an adoption event at a local bar, where he confidently socialized with strangers and enjoyed the company of his doggy friends.
Lazzie came to us in rough shape, suffering from mange and a respiratory infection, clearly lacking basic veterinary care and proper treatment from a previous owner. He was found alone in a ditch full of trash, enduring harsh Texas weather. Thankfully, he's now healthy, strong, and as striking as can be!
Ideal Home
Lazzie would love a home where he can continue to cuddle with his people and other dogs. He has been a confident companion to dogs of various sizes and has shown to be gentle with strangers, suggesting he would likely do well in a home with children and cats.
Ongoing Health
Lazzie is fully vaccinated and neutered. He has made a full recovery from his past health issues.
Training & Support
Lazzie is kennel trained and potty trained. He also has experience with socialization at public events.

Transporation
Lazzie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and can take dogs to various locations across the country. Pickup locations may vary and could be in different cities, counties, or even states. We work with third-party ground transport services and provide tracking information via the Life360 app and Facebook chats.
