These adorable, snuggly, and hilarious Australian Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix puppies are getting a head start in our Fresh Start prison training program. They are learning early basics like house training and simple commands, channeling their brilliant minds for good. With an estimated birthdate of April 1, 2026, these pups are ready to find their forever families. They come from high-drive, intelligent working breeds, which means they will thrive with an active owner who enjoys training and giving their dog a job. While they may chew socks, furniture, or drywall, with the right structure, training, and plenty of physical and mental exercise, they will grow into incredibly loyal and devoted companions. If you're looking for a laid-back couch potato, these pups are not the ones for you. But if you're ready for the rewarding commitment of raising a working breed puppy, you'll gain a dog who will give you their whole heart.
Ideal Home
An active individual or family who enjoys training, staying active, and providing mental stimulation for a smart dog. These pups are not for those seeking a low-energy companion.
Ongoing Health
All puppies will receive necessary vaccinations, de-worming, and heartworm testing if old enough. They will also be spayed or neutered as part of the adoption process.
Training & Support
These puppies are learning basic commands and house training in our prison program. They will require continued training and a commitment to exercise to thrive. Owners should be prepared for the "extra work" that comes with raising working breed puppies.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- If you wish to adopt an unspayed/unneutered dog, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "Foster to Adopt" and finalize the adoption after their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the dog back for vaccines and exams prior to their surgery.
- Adoption fees vary by dog ($180-$400) and include microchip, shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if applicable), spay/neuter, and a 1-year rabies shot (if applicable).
- A $21 county license is required for all adopted dogs.
Transporation
These pups are currently in our Fresh Start prison program and will need to be transported to the shelter for meet & greets. Transport back to the shelter is available.
