Meet Hatchi!
This majestic 90-pound teddy bear is a young adult Akita/Siberian Husky mix with a tricolor coat and a tender heart. Hatchi is a whirlwind of energy and loyalty, currently adjusting to life with only one working eye due to stabilized glaucoma. While he may see shadows, sudden movements can startle him, particularly during walks. He thrives with a confident and experienced caregiver who can help him feel grounded and secure. Hatchi is strong on leash and can be reactive to dogs, cats, bikes, and cars. He's a sweet, snuggly companion who melts into affection and is eager to please, especially with treats! This intelligent boy responds to his name, is crate trained, house-trained, and has lived harmoniously with young children.
Ideal Home
Hatchi needs a confident, experienced caregiver who understands how to help him feel secure. A fenced yard is essential for his safety due to his Husky instincts and curiosity. He would not be compatible with cats.
Ongoing Health
Hatchi has stabilized glaucoma in one eye and will need daily eye drops for the rest of his life. Thankfully, his love of treats makes administering them manageable. He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Hatchi is reactive to dogs, cats, bikes, and cars, so his caregiver should be comfortable working with large breeds and understand positive reinforcement and patient training. He is strong on leash and may do well with a calm, female dog companion.
